Welcome to total architects
International Inc.!
With the ratification of the
amendments to the Architects’ Law in 2004, providing for more updated, more
relevant, more applicable and equitable laws regulating the professional
practice of the architects in the Philippines, we have become the first architectural
company to register as a corporation with the Securities and Exchange
Commission in July 2005. A
conglomeration of many independent “studio” firms having varied expertise, the
principals of these firms, all licensed and practising architects, plus that of
a marketing outfit and a specialty contracting firm, incorporated themselves
into a collective corporate entity as Total Architects International Inc.
(TAII)
Since then, TAII has sought and
pursued to carve out its own niche in the service-providing professions of the
construction and real estate development industries, and with its roster
development industries, and prospective projects, it continues to define both
the broad and fine line on which it is to tread. In the near future, with its
multitude of resources and networks gained and nourished over time, it is but
inevitable for TAII to venture directly into real estate developing as well.
As Service
Provider. Believing in the liberalization of the profession by
the new law called RA 9266 replacing the outmoded RA 545, we have since
redefined the corporate practice of architecture to go into packaged services
with other disciplines such as planning, engineering and allied design
services, project and construction management, marketing and real estate
services as well as project funds sourcing, and others as the case may be. All
or some of them very much required in a real estate venture by clients/project
proponents besides architecture. The whole project team, therefore, or
some of it, may be availed at packaged or team price, translating into cost
savings for the project as opposed to having to deal with many teams on piece
meal fees which can sum up to a relatively astounding amount.
Having survived through the
Asian, then the world economic crisis that started in 1997 and persists to this
day, the principals felt that in order to survive as a service-providing entity
in today's markets, their vast talents alone are not enough to go on. The
main factors are:
1.
The fostering of OPPORTUNITIES to be of service,
to practice one’s know how or expertise, to be able to contribute significantly
to works in emerging markets where they may participate the best.
2.
The second factor is having the capability to
identify, seek out and partner with other industry professionals and expert
teams on as many diverse projects and ventures as possible.
3.
The third is the ability to envision creative
solutions to venture problems and translate them into realities, not only on
technological or technical aspects but more importantly, on business aspects. As
there exists already many leaders in the industry who have dominated the
Philippine real estate market, it is just a question of finding one's niche in
the vast arena and be the market leader there.
Thus, it is in packaged services where my group seeks to be
the market leader and the architectural organization of choice. It is now
working to strengthen what it has determined that it should be good at to
better serve its chosen market niche, as well as working more to further
strengthen what it is already good at.
As
Developer. Since the "services" part is already a
given, it is only a matter of time before my group engages itself as the
developer of projects, thus becoming its own Client as well. With the
opportunities presented to it during the past several months of its existence
by various proponents, many of them the landowners themselves, My Group has
indeed found another market niche to excel in: Developing, both horizontal
and vertical. Thus, its secondary business purpose.
As a developer, it is important
to be selective in choosing the projects that my group intends to develop,
catching the market it has targeted to bring in the fastest return of
investment as soon as possible. This is paramount. Again, the criteria
that define its service-providing aspect should be applied also in its
development projects. As a developer, TAII has created its own opportunities to
render services but with direct control over every aspect thus protecting the
interests of the projects and their proponents as well.
All of these works are to be
deliverable in the next five years at least, after which, TAII shall look to
new markets and opportunities again elsewhere in the country and in the world
to ply its business and gain new ground.
